PRESS RELEASE: Endorsement of the Charter by the New Gloucester GOP

On September 22, 2022, the New Gloucester GOP voted to support the Charter which is to be voted on November 8, 2022.

This decision to support passage of the Charter was reached after great thought and consideration. The committee feels that after hundreds of hours in the making, the result is a comprehensive approach to organizing and refining our current processes. It also added further governing guidelines that resolved concerns from all members at the table. The unique and very reassuring fact about this document is that every policy within it required unanimous support of all nine members, Michael Arata, Linda Chase, Donald Libby, Peter Bragdon, Stephen Hathorne, Steven Libby, Lucinda Brakey, Penelope Hilton, and Benjamin Tettlebaum. We encourage folks to read the Charter which can be found on the town website Charter Commission - New Gloucester, Maine and subsequently vote in favor of it.

The Charter will be voted on in our next election. Absentee ballots will be available for pick up at the beginning of October and State Ballots can be applied for on our website at New Gloucester, Maine. The November election will be held on November 8, 2022 at 611 Lewiston Rd in New Gloucester. If transportation to obtain absentee ballots or to vote on election day is a concern please email us at newgloucestergop@gmail.com and we will arrange a volunteer to assist you.
