Guest Post: Local People, Local Issues, by Steve Libby

New Gloucester Voters,

Over the years there have been many Selectmen candidates with “agendas”. Issues such as, they don’t like the town manager, fire department board support, opposed to the water district project, opposed to me as chairman, etc. Think about all these issues. They are all are local issues, issues we all worked through as a town. This election is different than any other in my 36 years of service. We have two candidates whose agendas are different from anything we’ve ever seen. United Against Racism, Political Correctness, Diversity Equity Inclusion, Social Justice, Political Activism, Black Lives Matter. These issues are not New Gloucester. Ward and Planson are not New Gloucester. They are taking what the media says are national issues and are applying them to our town. The protest at our parade was just too much. It showed how they really feel. Inclusion if you agree, if not, bullying, telling you to leave town. These two are not fit to serve our town.

I will be voting for local people, local issues, I will be voting for Tammy Donovan and Brian Shedlarski.

Steve Libby

21 Year Selectmen
